You've Raised Me & I'm Strong: A Litany

You've raised me to new life, Lord.

I'm strong.

Strong in Christ by incarnation, baptism, crucifixion, death, the victorious descent to the Underworld, resurrection, and ascension.

You've raised me to new life, Lord.

I'm strong.

Strong like your divine messengers, like the prayers of the patriarchs, proclamations of the prophets, preaching of the apostles, power of the persecuted, purity of the saints, and pleasing deeds of the righteous.

You've raised me to new life, Lord.

I'm strong.

Strong like a bright, radiant, splendid light. Strong like lightning, wind, oceans, and mountains.

You've raised me to new life, Lord.

I'm strong.

Strong only because of God's strength, which pilots, upholds, guides, looks ahead, hears, speaks, guards, protects, saves, and delivers me.

You've raised me to new life, Lord.

I'm strong.

Strong to stand firm against every act of cruelty, injustice, abuse of power, opposition, all false accusations, and evil laws. Strong against the false claims of pagans, heretics, idolaters, witches, trolls, wayward thinkers and leaders.

You've raised me to new life, Lord.

I'm strong.

Strong because you are The Shield that keeps me from attacks, arrests, and wounds, but brings me into an abundance of award, namely, the fullness of your presence. So that, wherever I may turn, you are there: With, before, behind, in, beneath, and above me; there on the right and left; there in lying down, sitting, standing; there in the evening, morning, and afternoon; there in the hearts of those who think of me, speak of me, see me, and hear me.

You've raised me to new life, Lord.

I'm strong.

I'm strong because of the call of the Trinity on my life. I pledge my allegiance to The Three-in-One, Creator of all, who has made me strong. Amen.

(A prayer inspired by St. Patrick.)
