True Beauty: A Reflective Prayer

God, I was thinking today about beauty.
"What's beauty?" I asked myself. And,
"What's truly beautiful?" I asked myself.
Nature? Trees, waterfalls, oceans, skies?
People? My wife, children, friends?
And, then, you answered: "Holiness."
Ah, yes, holiness. Holiness is beauty.
Beauty is holiness. They interlock.
They are interchangeable. Holiness.
That makes sense, every bit of sense.
A life of holiness is a life lived beautifully.
You, O God, are holy. It is who you are.
And you, O God, are absolutely beautiful.
You are holy and holiness is beauty.
And then it hit me: You call me to you.
That means you call me to holiness.
I am to be holy as you are holy.
That also means you call me to beauty.
I am to be beautiful as you are beautiful.
I am to be holy as you are holy.
And, so, I fix my eyes on you.
I fix my eyes on your radiant beauty.
Holy, Holy, Holy are you, Lord, God Almighty.
Beauty, Beauty, Beauty, are you,
Lord, God Almighty. Amen. Amen. Amen.
