Refiner's Fire

וּמִ֤י מְכַלְכֵּל֙ אֶת־יֹ֣ום בֹּואֹ֔ו וּמִ֥י הָעֹמֵ֖ד בְּהֵרָֽאֹותֹ֑ו כִּֽי־הוּא֙ כְּאֵ֣שׁ מְצָרֵ֔ף

"But who can endure the day of His coming and who can stand when He appears for He is like a refiner's fire."

Can I wait one minute longer for the Christ? Can I stand if He came the next minute? Jesus I can not survive Your refining fire, and I cannot live without its cleansing holy love. Yet when You took on 'me' and became fully human, You did not survive the cross. So I ask if this cup in any way might pass me by, so be it, but regardless of the heat, Your will be done. Let Your love eradicate every selfish dross within me until my face looks more and more like love, patience, kindness, long suffering, humble - let me look like You Jesus. Come Lord Christ, greet me with a fiery honi until I become fully human just like You. Amen.
