Praying with Psalm 9
“For the needy shall not always be forgotten, the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.” -Psalm 9:18 In one manor or another we are all poor and needy. The rich are starved for fellowship, the addicted starved for comfort, peace, and safety, or the promiscuous man or woman are famished for real intimacy and true love. We are ravenous creatures. Lord, You gave us an appetite for Your eternal self, and seemed to have set us in a world with a table filled with everything else. The more we devour, the poorer we become, the more we are ourselves consumed. We need to remember our true hunger, we need to be reminded of our true thirst, Lord God help us to remember You. Jesus, You have known hunger, Lord Christ You have known need, please remember me. Amen.
