Praying with Psalm 88

“You have put far from me Loved one and friend, and my only acquaintance is darkness.” -Psalm 88:18 Have I not surrendered all to You? Certainly not, but for all my groaning will all the love I have be exchanged for dust? Is silence Your only response for all my desires that You placed in me? Will those I love suffer with no end in sight? Is my name abandoned? Rejected? Loveless? If this is wrath Lord, let me repent and turn my heart on a righteous path, show me my wrong, make me into Love’s image, let me bear beauty and joy like a garment, let not loneliness be called my only friend.
