Praying with Psalm 86

“Unite my heart to fear Your name.” -Psalm 86:11 The roots of my being are found in my heart. All desire that fuels all action at the heart of my heart. I am heart, Lord, You have made me so, and so all that I may be or do must happen with my heart. If the heart is given, the rest of me will follow. Bind my heart to reverence, to go back to awe, and fear You, the Creator who is so completely other than creation, and yet became one with His creation. So let my union with awe of Your name produce a heart full of love and obedience. If I were not needy, this would not be so, but I need You more than every hour, so shackle, enslave me to Your will, then I will be free. Amen.
