Praying with Psalm 8

“out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength because of Your enemies that You may silence the enemy and the avenger.” -Psalm 8:2

Am I not always as a nursing infant before You Adonai? What fool could think anything other than this when standing before You who have created world after world by the words of Your mouth? I could barely hang my name on a wall to be forgotten while You have hung the stars in the sky. All my reflections and thoughts of You are merely a child at play, splashing his feet in rain puddles. Even as I am growing old, the pools that I have thought myself diving into will one day look like puddles too. Lord keep me as Your child, and yet grow me up too, until all my enemies, and all that is enemy within will shrink like pools into puddles, and puddles into vanishing drops and I forget to learn of evil forevermore. Amen.
