Praying with Psalm 76

“There He broke the arrows of the bow, the shields and swords of battle. Selah.” -Psalm 76:3 Lord God You have made us a home and called us Your children. You have established Your house by making war with war. You silence the cannons by breaking them, You bring us victory, we - Your enemies, by being broken. Now Lord, break the arrows in our hearts, split the shields that cover our wounds in fear. Snap the swords we have pointed at our selves every time Your goodness draws near. We are a people at war, and we have made war on our very selves. Lord God declare war on our warring ways with Your perfect love and holy compassion. Amen.
