Praying with Psalm 68

“A father of the fatherless. . .is God” -Psalm 68:5 Lord Your compassion is this, that we can cry out, Abba, Father, I am Yours. For Your children with an absent father still standing in the room - Abba, Father, they are Yours. For Your children with a father violently in their room - Abba, Father, they are Yours. For Your children with an alcoholic father checked out in their room - Abba, Father, they are Yours. For Your sons and daughters who saw their fathers beat their mothers - Abba, Father, they are Yours. For Your daughters and sons who never learned true love from their fathers - Abba, Father, pour out Your love on Your sons and daughters. For Your children who have lost their dads - Abba, Father, be a Father to the fatherless. Amen.
