Praying with Psalm 67

“God, be merciful to us and bless us and cause Your face to shine upon us. Selah.” -Psalm 67:1 Lord if we ask for mercy, it is because in our faithlessness You have remained faithful. If we ask for Your face to shine upon us, it is because we have turned our face from You. We have listened to our anxiety, told ourselves a story of fear over and over again, and have not listened to Your love. Jesus Christ, You are perfect mercy, the fulfillment of the covenant that we have never kept. We do not deserve love - except in You has all our unworthiness been washed, and You have clothed us with Christ’s worthy love. Therefore help us be fearless in being loved, help me to be fearless in loving, and as relentless in loving as You are faithful, for perfect love casts out ALL fear! Amen.
