Praying with Psalm 58

“God break their teeth.” -Psalm 58:6 Oh God, You appose violence, that wicked aggression whose aim is for harm and destruction. Violence has benighted us around and within. Every hurtful word is echoed by our Enemy over and over again. Lord, shatter their teeth, remove their fangs! Let not one letter, one pen stroke of fear, anxiety, self-hatred, self loathing find its way past Your angels. Let the lies spoken by hurtful mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grandmothers and grandfathers, abusive husbands and abusive wives fall on deaf ears - open now only to Your love. Crush Your enemy Lord, for he is our enemy too, from old he has hated, Lord break his teeth! Silence the lies, remove their venom from your beloved! Let Your love, Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
