Praying with Psalm 52

“I will praise You forever because You have done it.”

-Psalm 52:9

Adonai, my Adonai,

You need no good thing,

There is no treasure You lack

For all You have done

Has brought me to Your table,

To feast on Your presence,

Is the purpose of my praise.

And I will praise You

Not of my own strength nor will,

Intellect or purity -

I will praise You because

You have opened a door to Your house

That no man can shut,

It is Your invitation to the feast

It is Your initiation,

You have cajoled me to have my fill

Of praising You. Adonai, my Adonai -

You have done it again and again. Amen.
