Praying with Psalm 51

“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts.” -Psalm 51:6 Lord I cannot find my inner-self. I have been lost in my own thoughts and desires like a wanderer lost in the mountains. From tree to tree the infection spreads in the great forest of my heart, like a vine it shoots left and right, north and south. Who can find its root? Who can plant truth in its stead in my most inward being? Guide me, garden me, grant me Your mercy that my heart may flourish once more. Cleanse these hands with Your mountain rain, wash this heart and make it whole and holy and wholly Yours. Amen.
