Praying with Psalm 4
Updated: Sep 3, 2022
“Be angry and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed and be still. Selah.” -Psalm 4:4 Am I righteous that You would hear me O Lord? If I am righteous, it is Your righteousness at work in me. My heart is a battlefield, filled with trench warfare. My thoughts, the enemy's thoughts, the suggestions of others, all toiling deep within, looking to control me, and rend me from Your thoughts. So what if I am justified in my anger? What business is it of mine if those who hurt me deserve my wrath? Have I not earned Your wrath? Are we not all unequally undeserving of Your mercy and forgiveness? Help me to remember, to meditate, and be still and know that You are adonai, Lord of all, above all. Amen. For further devotion in song please listen to Battle Belongs: Song Session by Phil Wickham
