Praying with Psalm 27

"to behold the beauty of Yahweh" -Psalm 27:4

Lord my heart has every need of Your beauty, and it runs after every other. You have said “seek my presence,” and I have sought everything and everyone other. O God, let my desire be for Your beauty more than my own life, let Your beauty be the presupposition of my every thought, the aim of all my aiming, the goal of all my goals, Lord let me find You, and be found at rest in Your beauty, for all longing finds its home in the sanctuary of Your beauty. Let it be my shield and buckler, my hope and salvation morning, noon and night. O God I want to see Your beauty, and be seen by Your beauty, that I might become beautiful for Your namesake, until all things are beautiful. Amen.
