Praying with Psalm 143

“For the enemy has persecuted my soul. He has crushed my life to the ground. He has made me dwell in darkness, like those who have been long dead.” -Psalm 143:3

If You are righteous, Lord, set things right. If You are healer, Adonai, bind the wounds of the traumatized. Yahweh if You are holy then set us apart from this darkness. Part the night just as You parted the sea and let light flood our enemies. Elohim if You are the Living God bring the dead back to life! Crush the fears that divide us, destroy our anxious thoughts with perfect peace, unleash the sword of heaven, cut down the abuser, the rapist, the molester, the coercive controlling enemies of our bodies and our souls. If You are the God who dwells in unapproachable light, Adonai Elohim, reveal Yourself and end this night! Amen.
