Praying with Psalm 141

“Set Yahweh a guard over my mouth, keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to anything evil.” -Psalm 141:4-5a

My thoughts are a wild dog, running at will every direction without a discerning guide or restraint. My mouth gives air to my thoughts, speaking them back to me through my ears, and back to my mind - reinforcing the feedback loop of godless chatter. Yahweh lay siege to my thoughts, Christ lay captive every imagination and crucify every evil impulse in my heart and mind! Let Your word be on my lips, Your praise a spring bursting from my heart. Rescue me from any and all godless reasoning! Lord I surrender, I surrender, Lord I surrender and I surrender again and again. Amen.
