Praying with Psalm 137

“How shall we sing the song of Yahweh in a foreign land.” -Psalm 137:4

Lord help me remember the land of blessing. These thirsty desert years are getting to my heart. Your water feels so scarce, and the scorching sun and freezing nights are my only companions. Let me sing a song of rescue once more, but let me not sing Your song of salvation alone. Let these desert years fade into grasslands rich with hatchlings and new life. For the ones I love, salvation, and swift justice fall on the heads of their oppressors and abusers. Let Your springs turn this desert back to Eden, and every moan into a cry for joy. Amen.
