Praying with Psalm 12

“For the oppression of the poor for the groaning of the needy, now I will arise, says Yahweh, I will set him in the safety for which he yearns." -Psalm 12:5 Lord God, is this Your kingdom coming, or is it here? Can I pretend that I am not scraping for bread while I posture my heart in gratitude? Can the homeless pretend a handout in a cardboard shelter is Your kingdom here? Can the shattered heart ever feel safe to love and be loved while You promise Your kingdom coming? Set the poor in safety, spread Your balm over the broken hearted, restore Your children, let righteousness roam the land as a thousand and ten-thousand wild horses, trampling the enemy under hoof, until nothing hinders Your love and Your mercy and Your healing. Amen.
