Praying with Psalm 119: Teth ט

“It is good for me that I have been afflicted that I may learn Your statutes.” -Psalm 119:71 Only You Lord can turn things upright. Only You can trade ashes for beauty, mourning for gladness. Only You can turn suffering into salvation, and make affliction a teacher that harvests the good You intended when You meant ‘me.’ There is no treasure equal to this, no weight of gold can measure out Your value. You are the rare pearl in a field. Whether by affliction or beauty let us learn to sell everything we have for the treasure in that field. Jesus, if You learned obedience by suffering, then so shall I. Lead me in all Your ways. Amen.
