Praying with Psalm 110

“Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” -Psalm 110:2

Even on the coronation seat of Your cross, Jesus You ruled in the midst of Your enemies. In the midst of their curses, You reined by praying, “Father, forgive them.” Surrounded by death itself You were given the keys and held dominion by Your resurrection. If we are to be seated in You, as You are seated at the right hand of the Father, grant that we may feast on Your presence by the power of the Holy Spirit in the midst of our enemies, including our own thoughts and fears that we have echoed to ourselves time and time again - Rule Lord Jesus even in the midst of our false self. You have conquered the grave, now conquer death in me by Your mighty hand, the blood of Your cross, Your resurrection life, and the authority of Your ascension. Amen.
