Praying with Psalm 100
“Know that Yahweh, He is God. It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” -Psalm 100:3
I have not made myself. I have not created my own hands and fingers, nor given them the ability to articulate my response to the music I hear around me, and within me. I have not made my heart, nor planted its roots of desire within me. I did not create this thirst and hunger that has groaned since my birth. I have not created a safe place for my hunger and desire to both feed and rest. Lord, You have done this. Yahweh, You have true ownership, true authorship. So let me be Yours, and will You be mine? If starvation, begging or borrowing are my companions, and loneliness my bed, or if I dine in palaces with friends and love, let me be Yours, and Adonai please be mine. Amen.
