Pathétique: A Benediction

May we be children who look to our God and Father in times of joy and need, in times of sorrow and regret, in times of remorse and rejoicing. And may we, like the psalmist, never be too afraid or ashamed to call on him, to call on Yahweh. May we trust that he’ll listen, that he’ll kneel down, that he’ll pick us up, and that he’ll be tender toward us. And may we see his hands, holding the chalice, and daily ask: “Father, what’s in your cup today? May I drink?” May we, in peace, drink deeply from the cup of salvation. Amen.
