More: A Prayer of Confession

God, I’m thankful that life but
more importantly, Scripture, reveals
more than just one side of you,
more than one dimension. There is
more than just the happy parts. It is
more real that way. Your anger and, even
more, your hurt. Your wrath and longsuffering and,
more than that, your justice and love. The
more you pursue, the
more people tend to run. The call for
more of you and less of me. It makes me want you
more than before,
more than ever. When there are
more storms, days of gray, and dark midnights,
more evenings of loneliness and hurt, I cry out all the
more for clarity, for you. There’s nothing I want
more.
