Let There Be Light: A Plea

Lord, in my study of Scripture, let there be light.

In my relationships, let there be light.

In my decision-making, let there be light.

In seeking the best for your church, let there be light.

In being most attentive to your will, let there be light.

In the darkest regions of my heart-mind, let there be light.

In the things I hope for in the future, let there be light.

In this evil and corrupt society, let there be light.

In moments of anger, let there be light.

In times of angst, let there be light.

In putting childish ways behind, let there be light.

In pressing on toward perfection of heart disposition, let there be light.

In running the race, let there be light.

In raising children, let there be light.

In loving my spouse, let there be light.

In serving my students, let there be light.

In seeking to hear your voice amid the noise, let there be light.

In preaching the truth, let there be light.

In communicating with trolls and haters, let there be light.

In standing for your justice, let there be light.

In longing for righteousness, let there be light.

In every breathing moment, Lord, let there be light.
