Holy Heart: A Collect

O God of pathos, God of deepest feelings,

The Most Moved Mover,

Who rejoices at one sheep coming home to you and

Grieves at every act of disobedience and

Every chasing after the fulfillment of self-will,

I pray that you would give me a holy heart,

Your heart, the heart you gave to your prophets,

That I might feel what you feel and

Love more like you--more holy.

Give me a holy heart, God,

In order that I might share the depths and heights

And width of your love with all I meet.

In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
