God Like a Tree

You, God, are

Like a tree.

You have given me

Roots.

You have

Grown me up.

It is only by you that

I breathe.

You are my

Oxygen.

You are strong,

Sturdy, Towering,

Lifegiving.

You allow me to sit

In your shade.

You produce

Fruit in me.

Never shall you

Be cut down.

Your leaves

Heal the nations.

Waters flow to you.

From you.

Trees in The Garden.

Trees in The City.

Everywhere I look

Trees.

Reminders.

Signposts.

Pointing ahead. Everywhere I look

You.

I walk in your forest,

Under your canopy.

You cover me.
