Forgive Me: A Confession & Plea

God, you were in the act of forgiving me

when the cold, hard reality that I have succumbed

to the firm grip of sin and seized upon

temptation yet again, hit me and damned me and

troubled me because, this realization—the depths

of my lack of self-control and the ability to

take you and your forgiveness for granted—is haunting.

Now, again, I shall pause. I shall repent.

(Turn away. Turn to you. Cling to you.)

And try, once again, to be who

I should have been in the first place.

Please, grant me that space, Lord. Please, forgive me.
